Schools closed, commuter rail down after massive warehouse fire burns through the night in Chelsea
Briefly

A 9-alarm fire erupted on Forbes Street in Chelsea at midnight, drawing hundreds of firefighters from various towns and suspending the Newburyport/Rockport Line that morning.
The fire started in an abandoned warehouse that used to be the Forbes Lithograph Manufacturing Company, which has been vacant since the 1960s following an aborted redevelopment effort.
In response to the fire, the Chelsea Police Department announced class cancellations at the Mary C. Burke Elementary Complex, while advising drivers of road closures and alternate arrangements.
The quick response involved many departments; however, the Newburyport/Rockport Line will offer shuttle buses for passengers, warning them to expect delays due to the ongoing situation.
