Would You Turn Your Classic Mazda Miata Into An EV With This Kit?
Briefly

Electrogenic has introduced a 'drop-in' EV conversion kit for the first-generation Mazda Miata, allowing classic car enthusiasts to enjoy electric performance with a range of 150 miles.
The new electric motor provides 160 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque, improving the power-to-weight ratio by 21% over the original engine, which only produced 130 horsepower.
With a battery pack that charges in about an hour and fits where the original engine was, the conversion strikes a balance between preserving the car's characteristics and enhancing performance.
While the conversion adds approximately 220 pounds to the Miata, the overall weight remains manageable, and the retained weight distribution helps maintain handling balance.
