U.S. regulator investigating Tesla's self-driving software after fatal crash | CBC News
Briefly

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into 2.4 million Tesla vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving software following four reported collisions, including a fatal accident.
NHTSA is examining whether the Full Self-Driving software correctly detects and responds to adverse driving conditions such as sun glare, fog, or airborne dust, which were present during the crashes.
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system, while advanced, still requires active supervision from drivers and is not fully autonomous, as stated on the company's website.
The outcome of the preliminary evaluation could lead to a demand for a recall if it identifies that Tesla's vehicles pose an unreasonable safety risk due to the FSD software.
