Two New York State patrol cars hit by drunk driver while troopers investigated another drunk driver

In a bizarre turn of events, two troopers conducting a DUI investigation were themselves struck by a drunk driver, highlighting the dangers of impaired driving.

The New York State Police reported that the incident occurred around midnight, with the troopers parked on the Southern State Parkway investigating another DUI case when their patrol cars were hit.

Jaikaran Ramrookum, aged 73, faces charges of Driving Under the Influence after crashing into the parked patrol car, forcing a serious reconsideration of road safety.

Both the troopers and the parties involved were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Thankfully, no life-threatening incidents occurred.
