Thieves aren't very interested in EVs
Briefly

According to an IIHS analysis, only 1 out of every 100,000 insured Tesla Model 3s is stolen, highlighting the effectiveness of its advanced security system, Sentry Mode.
"Even as the volume of EV thefts have increased over time, it is still extremely low in comparison to gas-powered vehicles," said NICB public affairs specialist Nicholas Zeitlinger.
"The technology in these cars is not as common knowledge... Most don't use keys but are controlled through a phone or with a keycard," Zeitlinger explained.
IIHS spokesperson Joe Young noted that EVs are often garaged or kept near homes for charging, making them less appealing targets for thieves.
