A wireless charging pad is now the most-desired in-car feature among people intending to buy a new vehicle. Almost 15,000 respondents to the AutoPacific survey indicated strong interest, with 44 percent opting for front passenger wireless charging.
Features once considered unnecessary or even optional, such as extra infotainment screens or remote parking via smartphone apps, are now being incorporated into new cars based on customer demand, as highlighted in the survey.
Heated and ventilated seats and a second wireless charging pad for back seats tied for second place in the survey, with each being chosen by 37 percent of respondents, slightly ahead of rain-sensing windscreen wipers.
Innovations like storing multiple driver profiles and integrating Android Automotive OS for a seamless digital experience in vehicles are growing in popularity, demonstrating the shifting demands and expectations in the automotive market.
