When Tesla first teased its next-gen roadster in 2017, it promised big things: a zero-to-60 time of 1.9 seconds, 8.8-second quarter-mile time, and over 250 MPH speed. Musk stated the Roadster will have 10 rocket thrusters, out-accelerating and out-braking the competition, even hovering briefly.
"I think next year," said Musk at the X Takeover event, confirming plans to demonstrate the Roadster in 2025, facing skepticism due to Musk's history of ambitious deadlines. However, he assured it will be able to 'fly.'
