Tesla to open Supercharging Network to Mercedes-Benz: Here's when
Briefly

Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Dimitris Psillakis stated, 'As our technologically advanced and highly compelling all-electric vehicle portfolio continues to grow, we recognize that a critical component for a seamless ownership experience for our customers is to ensure convenient access to a broad charging network.' He emphasized that adopting the NACS standard and utilizing Tesla’s infrastructure marks significant progress in their all-electric vehicle strategy.
For now, drivers will need to purchase a charging adapter from Mercedes dealers for $185, making temporary access possible. However, the automaker intends to integrate the North American Charging Standard (NACS) into its vehicles, future-proofing the charging process by eliminating the adapter requirement altogether.
The decision to open Tesla's Supercharger network to Mercedes-Benz EV drivers starts this February in the U.S. and indicates a broader trend of collaboration between automakers in EV infrastructure. Canada will follow, highlighting the initiative’s international reach.
Dimitris Psillakis further noted, 'This move represents an important step forward as we continue to build a strong foundation to bring additional, game-changing all-electric vehicles to the market,' underscoring the significance of accessible charging for EV success.
