Tesla has recalled over 200,000 vehicles due to faulty computer hardware impacting safety features, such as the rearview camera, as per NHTSA regulations.
The recall includes Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles from January 2023 to December 2024, indicating a wide range of affected builds.
Although Tesla is utilizing over-the-air updates to address some issues, they acknowledge these cannot resolve the computer problems, which have prompted numerous warranty claims.
Tesla plans to replace the affected hardware in vehicles that cannot be updated, crucial for achieving full autonomy and the promised robotaxi service.
