Tesla initiates rare physical recall for 2016 Model X over applique issue
Briefly

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has confirmed that Tesla's recall of the 2016 Model X involves 9,136 units, necessitating improved retention tests for vehicle safety.
Tesla previously inspected the Model X units in 2020 but determined that their method of applying a 60N pull force was inadequate to ensure the appliqué was secure.
In this recall, Tesla will use a minimum of 120N pulling force to assess the retention of the appliqué on affected Model X vehicles, indicating a more rigorous testing approach.
If the appliqué fails the retention test during this recall, Tesla Service will reattach it using the correct procedures, or perform a full replacement if necessary.
