Tesla continues California domination, still holding over 50 percent EV market share
Briefly

Despite losing 8.5% of its market share compared to last year, Tesla still dominates with 54.5% of the electric vehicle market in California. However, the company sees a first in its long-standing history with consecutive sales declines.
The CNCDA highlights that Tesla's sales continue to decrease, which opens the door for traditional automakers. Manufacturers are responding by expanding their battery electric vehicle sales to 40.2%, as new electric vehicle options attract consumers.
Kia, BMW, and Hyundai all managed to increase their market shares slightly, gaining 1.4%, 1.3%, and 1.3% respectively. While this is progress, Tesla's substantial lead makes it difficult for these brands to significantly impact Tesla's dominance.
The Model Y remains a frontrunner in the market, boasting 105,693 registrations, far ahead of the Model 3's 37,219. This solidifies its position as the leading battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) in sales.
