A 26-year-old woman from San Francisco, Emily Nishimura, was arrested for DUI after a bizarre hit-and-run incident in Pacifica. Shortly after midnight, police received a report of a car stopped on a residential street with a street sign jammed underneath. The vehicle had initially struck the sign, dragged it for a mile, and damaged a parked car. Authorities charged her with a BAC over .08% and are continuing their investigation, seeking further information from the public.
While she was driving, she drove over a raised center median in the area of Hickey Blvd. and SR-35, knocking over a street sign which became lodged underneath the vehicle.
The Pacifica Police Department was on the receiving end of a very unusual call just past midnight on Saturday morning regarding a vehicle that had stopped in the street due to a street sign trapped beneath it.
Emily Nishimura was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence for this incident, with charges including a BAC of .08% or higher and a hit-and-run.
While an arrest has been made, the Pacifica Police Department continues to investigate, urging anyone with information about the collision to contact them.
