Subaru is evaluating the possibility of launching a B-segment electric vehicle if the upcoming compact Uncharted performs well in the market. The company currently sells the Solterra and plans a three-EV lineup. However, a U.S. launch of the B-segment EV appears unlikely due to consumer preference for larger vehicles. Subaru's European executives are open to introducing a subcompact model amidst an influx of city EVs in Europe, noting the need for a wider range of electric cars to address customer demand.
Subaru's European boss, David Dello Stritto, said the company was open to launching a subcompact electric vehicle, especially since the space would soon be inundated with new models.
Inoue Masahiko stated, "It's something that is up for consideration, because we need to prepare a wider range of BEVs to meet every customer's expectations."
