Redwood Materials is set to launch a 15,000-square-foot R&D center in San Francisco, enhancing its efforts in battery recycling and cathode production. This facility will support the hiring of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers while also strengthening its operations in Nevada and South Carolina. The center is expected to help meet the rising demand for recycled battery components and further develop the U.S. circular battery supply chain, building on recent advancements in lithium-ion battery recycling and mineral recovery.
There's never been a better time to create a circular battery supply chain in the U.S., and our new R&D center in San Francisco is strategically positioned to enhance this initiative.
Our engineers have successfully designed systems to recycle most U.S. lithium-ion batteries, showcasing our capability to recover over 95% of critical minerals and support domestic battery production.
