Power out, one school closed after late night Hillsboro crash

Hillsboro Police reported that a hit-and-run crash involving a black SUV caused significant damage by smashing into a power line, resulting in school closure.
The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on December 8, impacting the power supply for approximately 25 local homes and businesses.
As a result of the vehicle colliding with the power line, St. Matthew Catholic School was forced to close on Monday, December 9.
Residents and students in the community were affected greatly by the loss of power, which was caused by the reckless actions of the SUV driver.
