'Police Academy' actor Steve Guttenberg jumps in to help battle Los Angeles wildfire: 'Get out'
Briefly

"If anybody has a car and they leave the car, leave the keys in the car so that we can move your car so that these firetrucks can get to Palisades Drive," he implored. "What's happening is people take their keys with them as if they're in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot." He continued, "We really need people to move their cars. So if you leave your car behind, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up there."
Guttenberg, who lives in the area, also shared that he has friends who are under an evacuation order yet are unable to leave because of the traffic jam on Palisades Drive. "There are people stuck up there. So we're trying to clear Palisades Drive and I'm walking up there as far as I can moving cars," he said. His emotional appeal highlighted the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need for cooperation in a crisis.
"It's really, really important," he told Kang, who didn't recognize him at first. Visibly emotional, he added, "There are families up there, there are pets up there. There are people who really need help." His heartfelt plea underscores the human impact of the crisis, showing a personal stake in the unfolding emergency.
"We got huge winds right now. It's really important for people to help each other," Guttenberg said amid clouds of smoke and the flashing lights of emergency vehicles. This statement reflects his sense of community and the collective responsibility felt during the ongoing disaster.
