Lewisham Council is aiming to transform the Thomas' Lane car park into a development featuring two towers, one 13-storeys and the other 9-storeys, to provides affordable housing by constructing 113 new homes.
The project will involve significant alterations to the existing car park, resulting in the removal of 65 standard parking spaces, leaving only designated spaces for Blue Badge holders and a pay loading area.
The planned layout of the new buildings prioritizes community space, with a central yard connecting the residential towers to a restored pub garden from the former Catford Constitutional Club.
With financial backing from the Mayor of London, Lewisham Council anticipates commencing construction in 2026, expecting the project to take approximately two years to complete.
