Nissan Ariya drivers will gain access to over 17,000 Tesla Superchargers next week, although the outdated Leaf with its CHAdeMO plug will not be supported.
The Ariya will require a $235 adapter to charge at Tesla Superchargers, which is available now through Nissan dealers or their website. Supply issues could delay access.
Nissan's adapter order may be less chaotic than those of Ford and Rivian, as the Ariya is less popular, potentially reducing competition for the limited product.
Unlike competitors, Nissan is charging for its adapter, which may help mitigate spontaneous purchases and reduce the likelihood of supply delays.
