Mazda Says Its New EV Is 'Truly Global.' But There's One Problem
Briefly

Mazda is one of the several Japanese automakers labeled as a "laggard" in the electric vehicle race. The automaker, known for its sporty models, has barely any presence in the U.S. EV market.
At an event in Japan today, Mazda, along with Changan Automobile, stated that the 2025 EZ-6 sedan would be its "first global new energy vehicle," set for international release this fall.
The EZ-6 sedan is not just a result of simple badge engineering; it features classic Mazda design, combining sharp angles with smooth curves, creating a visually appealing rear-wheel-drive electric vehicle.
Despite the excitement for Mazda's EZ-6, its production in China raises concerns about its availability in the U.S., given the strict tariffs on imported Chinese-made cars.
