Keith Riding, a 76-year-old resident of Hampton, received a personalized number plate for his electric MG ZS from his children. Despite registering the vehicle's new number plate with the DVLA and signing up for autopay with TfL, he was surprised to find that £625 was debited from his account due to charges related to entering London's LEZ and ULEZ, despite his vehicle being fully electric and exempt from such fees. He suspects previous owners might have driven a commercial vehicle leading to the incurred charges.
I registered for auto payment with TfL as I expect to occasionally enter the congestion zone for my medical condition treatment.
It's a funny thing, I’ve had this electric car for two years and was given a new numberplate for Christmas - all registered with the DVLA.
