India doesn't expect Tesla to move forward with an investment in the country due to lack of communication. The government understands Tesla's capital issues and lack of plans for fresh investment in the near future.
Instead of Tesla, India is focusing on domestic automakers like Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra to boost EV production. If Musk decides to re-engage, Tesla would still be welcome under the new import tax policy.
