Chrysler recalling 20,000 Jeep vehicles in Canada due to faulty battery that can catch fire | CBC News
"Chrysler is recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep plug-in hybrid vehicles due to a faulty battery that can fail and lead to a fire. The recall applies to more than 20,000 vehicles in Canada, 320,000 in the U.S. and over 30,000 in other markets. Chrysler, which is owned by Netherlands-based Stellantis, is aware of 19 fires and one injury potentially related to the issue, which were discovered through an internal investigation."
"The batteries were manufactured by Samsung SDI America, based in Auburn Hills, Mich. Owners of the vehicles which include certain Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles with model years between 2020-2025 and some Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe SUVs with model years from 2022-2026 are being advised to park the vehicles outside and away from structures until a remedy for the problem is determined.
