Earlier today, a car caught fire on the M1 southbound towards Dublin, causing significant delays for commuters, particularly those heading to the Coldplay concert.
The fire erupted near the Mary McAleese Boyne Valley Bridge outside Drogheda, creating a considerable backlog of traffic as the incident drew attention from passing motorists.
Fortunately, the burning vehicle has now been relocated to the slipway, leading to a subsiding impact on traffic flow as relief returned to the busy route.
