46,000 Tesla Cybertrucks Recalled For Flying Trim Pieces
Briefly

Tesla's Cybertruck recall involves approximately 46,096 units manufactured recently due to an adhesive problem that may lead to metal trim pieces separating while driving. The issue, noted by Tesla amid customer complaints, notably affects the cant rail assembly, crucial for the truck's exterior integrity. Despite the company estimating only 1% of the affected models will experience this issue, all units are recalled for repair. Traditional service center visits are required for the recall as this cannot be addressed via over-the-air updates, affecting production plans while resolution is sought.
The Cybertruck is equipped with a cosmetic applique along the exterior of the vehicle, known as the cant rail, which is an assembly comprised of an electro-coated steel stamping joined to a stainless steel panel with structural adhesive.
On affected vehicles, the cant rail stainless steel panel may delaminate at the adhesive joint, which may cause the panel to separate from the vehicle.
