Three men were sentenced for importing cocaine into Jersey after a police operation uncovered their plans to become the main suppliers of the drug on the island. Shahiukh Syed Gilani received a six-year and ten-month sentence, Terence O'Hagan five years, and Reece McLaren seven years in jail. Their scheme involved meeting in Jersey and arranging for a package containing 66g of cocaine to be delivered. Law enforcement emphasized their determination to tackle drug trafficking in Jersey.
Detective Inspector Christina Maclennan emphasized the police's commitment to combating drug trafficking, stating: "...we will do our utmost to prosecute anyone who imports and/or deals drugs in Jersey."
