Parts of southern Ontario could see more than 40 cm of snow by Sunday | CBC News
Briefly

Environment Canada has issued a warning that parts of southern Ontario could face significant snowfall, between 20 to 40 centimetres or more by Sunday due to lake effect snow from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
With heavy and blowing snow expected, visibility may suddenly drop to near zero. Therefore, authorities recommend that people consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
While some areas are under snow squall warnings, Toronto is not, but the city has opened warming centres as temperatures are anticipated to fall below -5 C.
The snow squall warnings indicate a chance for more than 40 centimetres of snow if the squalls remain stationary, particularly affecting regions like Newmarket, Barrie, and northern Durham.
