Ontario may need to import electricity during extreme weather: report | CBC News
Briefly

The Independent Electricity System Operator says there will be enough supply of electricity generated in Ontario under normal weather conditions, but importing up to 2,000 megawatts may be necessary during extreme weather, particularly in August and summer of 2025.
Nuclear power provides over half of Ontario's electricity, with some units being refurbished and others set to be retired. Demand is expected to rise by 1% this year and nearly 3% next year due to economic activities and large industrial projects like electric vehicle battery plants.
