Ontario making GO Transit free for veterans, members of Canadian Armed Forces | CBC News
Briefly

Starting March 1, 2025, veterans and current full-time members of the Canadian Armed Forces will be able to ride GO Transit for free as part of the Ontario government's initiative to provide transit relief. Ontario's minister emphasized the importance of supporting those who have served, stating that this program is a reflection of the province’s commitment to veterans' well-being.
In addition to the free transit initiative, the government will be increasing the annual financial support for eligible veterans and their families through the Soldiers' Aid Commission from $2,000 to $3,000. This additional funding is aimed at addressing a range of essential needs, including health-related expenses, home repairs, and personal items for those in financial difficulty.
