Today will start with bright spells before deteriorating weather conditions, particularly in western and northern regions. Meteorologist Andrew Doran-Sherlock noted that while there are brighter intervals this morning, clouds and rain will spread across the country. Temperatures will range from 16 to 23C throughout the day. Tonight will bring clearer conditions with possible fog after rain. Tomorrow's forecast includes a mix of sun and showers, with heavy rain expected in the south. A similar pattern of sun and rain is anticipated for Wednesday and Thursday, before more unsettled weather arrives on Friday and the weekend.
"Apart from some brighter intervals this morning, especially in the east, it'll be mostly cloudy today with outbreaks of rain and drizzle extending eastwards," meteorologist Andrew Doran-Sherlock said on this morning's Met Éireann forecast.
"Heaviest and most persistent in the north and west, but it will become drier and brighter in these areas later."
"Tomorrow will bring a mix of cloud and sunshine in the morning before scattered showers arrive in the afternoon. Some of those showers may turn heavy, particularly in the south."
"Current forecasts for the weekend suggest rain will again come in from the west but conditions could turn drier again on Sunday."
