A 19-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving after a crash on Highway 401 killed one person and sent three others to hospital with serious injuries early Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police said. The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. near Dixon Road in Etobicoke and involved a car and a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) truck, OPP said in a news release.
OPP believes other cars may have been involved and were racing prior to the crash, the release said. Police say one person was pronounced dead in hospital after being ejected from the car due to the crash. Two other people that were in the car and the driver of the MTO truck were also taken to hospital with serious injuries, OPP said.
