Two Canadians died from listeria infections after consuming milk substitutes under Silk and Great Value brands. 10 other infections confirmed, mainly in Ontario. Danone's Silk confirmed the drinks were made by a third-party manufacturer.
Danone's plant in Ontario where the contaminated drinks were made is closed for investigation. Canada's recall involved 18 products. 60% of infected individuals are over 60, more susceptible to bacterial infections.
