Canada may seem appealing due to US dissatisfaction, but its economy and opportunity lack the attractiveness I find in New York, where I built my career.
While Toronto is a financial hub, I found New York's job market superior with better compensation and a broader range of opportunities in various fields.
In the US, I enjoyed a college experience that encouraged exploration. Canadian institutions push specialization too soon, limiting the breadth of educational opportunities.
With New York as the second-best city for startups and $180 billion in funding in 2023, the pace and scope of innovation surpasses that of Toronto.
