'We just got lucky': Tahoe storm dumps snow across ski resorts
Briefly

"We just got lucky" during this past storm, Allegretto said, because Tahoe wasn't on track to get much of any snow. This storm marks a pivotal moment for the ski season, bringing over four feet of fresh snow and boosting the snowpack at local resorts significantly, especially those on the northern side of Lake Tahoe, where they now boast higher than average levels, reversing a slow start to the winter season.
Tahoe is only getting the southern edge of these snow storms, and that's why resorts northwest of the lake are being favored over ski resorts on the southern edge. Allegretto explained that weather patterns have heavily favored the Pacific Northwest this ski season, resulting in uneven snowfall distribution and leaving areas around southern Tahoe with less snow than desired, creating discrepancies among various ski resorts.
