Unveiling of key art project in Redwood City goes forward
"The piano, the second of three that the association intends to unveil, has been painted by artist Christine Ong-Dijcks. Titled Living the Life, her design aims to evoke the beauty of nature amid the dynamic transformations of Redwood City, according to a release. The piano stands as a testament to the local parks and community gatherings where music and laughter flourish, symbolizing the rich experiences that make life fulfilling in Redwood City."
"The Civil Grand Jury is an independent investigatory body convened annually to examine the operations of county and city government, school districts, special districts and other local public agencies. Under the court's direction, grand jurors are empowered to review records, evaluate government programs, inspect detention facilities and issue findings and recommendations that promote ethical, efficient and transparent governance."
Redwood City is unveiling a community piano at 500 County Center on March 11 as part of the Redwood City Improvement Association's Sights, Sounds & Tastes Campaign. The piano, the second of three planned installations, features artwork by Christine Ong-Dijcks titled Living the Life, designed to celebrate nature and Redwood City's transformations. The installation symbolizes local parks and community gatherings where music and laughter thrive. Additionally, Santa Clara County is recruiting civic-minded residents for the 2026-27 Civil Grand Jury, an independent body that examines government operations, reviews records, evaluates programs, and inspects facilities to promote transparency and accountability. Applications are due March 27.
