"A candle caused a closet shelf to catch fire in a Mountain View apartment today (Nov. 3), but firefighters put out the flames before they spread to the rest of the building, the city's fire department said in a statement. At 10:58 a.m., Mountain View Fire Department received a call about a fire on the second floor of an apartment complex on the 800 block of Heatherstone Way, according to the statement."
"They arrived at the apartment six minutes later and put out the flames before cutting into walls to make sure there weren't any remaining embers. The apartment's four residents had evacuated by the time firefighters arrived and weren't injured."
