"A 65-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man from Oakland were wounded in an East Oakland shooting Saturday night, authorities said. Both victims were initially listed in critical but stable condition. Authorities said the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of 73rd Avenue, where the woman was walking outside and the man was sitting in a parked vehicle, according to police."

It was not immediately known if either of them was the intended target or if someone else near them was. The shooter fled before police got to the scene, according to police. Both victims were taken by ambulance to a hospital. Some other parked vehicles were also struck by gunfire, but no other injuries were reported."
