Briefly

More back-to-back winter storms in January and February have contributed to the favorable snowpack conditions in the Sierra Nevada, allowing Kirkwood and Sugar Bowl resorts to extend their ski and snowboarding season.
Currently, the Central Sierra is at 99% of its April 1 average, according to the California Department of Water Resources. More snowfall is expected to fall this week, according to the National Weather Service five-day forecast.
