""I live here for 20 years on this street, it's a good, you know, quiet neighborhood,""
A series of car fires occurred in San Jose's Willow Glen neighborhood between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Thursday, with three vehicles set ablaze at separate locations on Curtner, Johnston Avenue and Lincoln. Surveillance video captured a person on a bicycle appearing to ignite one vehicle, and footage shows a charred SUV and a Prius that burned from underneath. Neighbors reported fear and concern, noting the area is usually quiet and expressing confusion about the motive. The San Jose Fire Department's arson unit is leading the investigation in coordination with the San Jose Police Department, and officers canvassed the area during the day.
