Sierra Nevada records snowiest day of the season from brief but potent California storm

The 26.4 inches of snowfall on Sunday in Sierra Nevada set a new single-day snowfall record for the season, surpassing the previous record set on March 3rd by 2.6 inches.
Flood advisories were issued for parts of the Bay Area as up to an inch of rain fell, with temperatures dipping into the low 40s. Wind gusts of 40 mph were reported near San Francisco.
