Second death reported in aftermath of suspicious' Marin County fire

A three-story, 19-apartment building at 516 Canal St. in San Rafael burned early Thursday, beginning around 5:30 a.m. Eight people sustained injuries; several occupants jumped from windows or balconies to escape. Firefighters worked the scene and flames engulfed portions of the structure, including the roof. Two bodies were recovered: one located at the rear of the building identified as 62-year-old Tracey Lee Lowmiller; a second discovered late Sunday in a damaged interior area remains unidentified. The Marin County coroner's office and investigators are pursuing leads and expect to identify the second female victim by the end of the week.
A second body was discovered at a San Rafael apartment complex that was destroyed by fire last week, authorities announced Monday. Investigators located the victim in a damaged interior area late Sunday, San Rafael police Sgt. Justin Graham said. The Marin County coroner's office is working to identify the victim. The other victim was found at the back of the building on Friday. She was Tracey Lee Lowmiller, 62, of San Rafael, the coroner's office said Monday afternoon.
