The Save Mart Companies announced the closure of the Yosemite Wholesale Distribution Center in Merced, which is expected to be permanent and will affect 254 employees.
Save Mart, which operates 194 stores, shut down the Merced distribution center following a WARN notice submitted to the California Employment Development Department in September.
In 2024, Save Mart was acquired by the Canadian-based Jim Pattison Group, marking a significant transition in ownership which may have influenced the facilities' closures.
The closure of the facility is part of a broader strategy, as Save Mart also closed a distribution center in Roseville earlier in the same year.
