A metal scrap pile fire at a recycling facility in San Jose on Friday morning caused a large plume of smoke that could be seen from miles away.
Firefighters initially responded at 9:20 a.m. to the facility in the 1900 block of Stone Avenue and used a large aerial apparatus to spray water from above.
The fire was declared under control as of about 11:55 a.m. with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
