San Diego sightseeing tour company devastated after fire destroys 95% of its vehicles

The fire at GoCar Tours destroyed approximately 30 vehicles, including six electric cars, leading the company to pause rentals amidst investigations.

Chris Boone expressed his distress over the incident, stating, 'I haven't slept, it's horrible. We lost 95% of our cars in the fire.'

Battalion Chief Rezende emphasized the dangers of lithium-ion batteries, mentioning they can emit hazardous gases and burn for prolonged periods, complicating firefighting efforts.

Rezende noted that electric vehicles, due to their stringent safety standards, are statistically less likely to catch fire compared to gasoline-powered vehicles.
