Report: 15, 10 and 5 freeways are deadliest in California, as traffic deaths rise

Fatalities from car crashes rose by 17% in 2022 compared to pre-pandemic years. In a Top 10 list of California freeways with the most fatalities, the Inland Empire claimed the first and second spots.
San Bernardino County recorded the highest fatalities with 48 deaths on the 15 Freeway, followed by Riverside County with 31 deaths on the 10 Freeway. Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties also had significant fatalities.
Southern California counties, except for San Diego, saw increases in fatalities above 2018 and 2020 levels. Los Angeles County alone reached 858 total roadway deaths in 2022.
