"A woman was found dead early Friday following a fire that broke out in a detached garage being used as a residence in North Fair Oaks, authorities said. The fire was reported at 4:36 a.m. in the 600 block of Hurlingame Avenue, according to a news release from the Redwood City Fire Department and San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Responding firefighters composed of personnel from Redwood City and Menlo Park arrived to find a detached garage heavily involved in flames."
"The main residence associated with the garage sustained smoke damage but the fire was otherwise isolated to the point of origin. Firefighters searching the garage found a 31-year-old woman inside. Authorities said attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not publicly released. Two other occupants of the garage got out safely and were not injured, according to the news release."

The main residence sustained smoke damage while the blaze remained isolated to the garage. Firefighters found a 31-year-old woman inside; attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants escaped without injury. Sheriff, district attorney, and coroner personnel were summoned and surrounding streets were expected to be closed for much of Friday for examination.
