The California High-Speed Rail Authority has released a four-minute video highlighting the planned connection from Palmdale to Burbank, crucial for enabling future operations between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The authority approved the Palmdale to Burbank alignment plan in June, marking the completion of the final section needed for the high-speed rail project, which spans 38 miles.
CAHSRA selected a 'refined SR-14' alternative that follows Highway 14, featuring four major tunnels, including two extensive tunnels over a dozen miles long, tackling challenging terrain.
The video also showcases how trains will travel from Burbank into L.A. Union Station, along with visualizations of new run-through tracks at the station, signaling significant advancements in transportation.
