New SJ DOCA Festival features holiday light displays inspired by local children's drawings
"We came up with one simple question: how can we bring stories, art and families together to have an immersive experience? And here we are,"
"The vision of DOCA Festival is very simple, see the world through our inner-children., From stories, art and curiosity, we want to make people reconnect."
"We created the San Jose Holiday Lights for the city and for the Bay Area families to come, explore, get together and create some memorable moments together that can last,"
The DOCA Festival of Holiday Lights opened in Discovery Meadow in San Jose and runs through Jan. 4, 2026. The festival covers five glowing acres, six themed zones and more than 40 handmade attractions. The event emphasizes community-created installations and large-scale characters that create an immersive, family-oriented holiday experience. Local children contributed designs via an art contest that were transformed into physical festival structures. Programming includes events across Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Christmas in the Park’s Blinky’s Drive Thru also opened at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, offering an additional South Bay holiday light option.
