Beri Vikram, 42, allegedly tried to spark a fire Saturday afternoon at Garrod Farms Estate Winery and Stables in Saratoga. Employees confronted him, and he reportedly threw a wine bottle before fleeing in a Tesla. He then allegedly crashed into two parked cars, sending one over an embankment, and drove off the embankment himself while refusing to surrender. Deputies used pepperball and spray to force him to crawl out of the vehicle. He was arrested, taken to a hospital for evaluation, and is expected to be booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
