"OAKLAND - A 42-year-old man has been charged with murder in the Oct. 2 fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy - who the suspect told police he saw trying to steal a car outside his West Oakland home, according to authorities and court documents. Dante T. Floyd is charged in the killing of Myles Wooten, of Hayward. The two did not know each other, authorities said. The shooting happened about 4:44 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 2100 block of Myrtle Street."
"According to court documents, recovered video surveillance showed Floyd coming out of his home and firing multiple shots at Wooten and another person who were "attempting to take a vehicle" that was parked outside Floyd's home. The vehicle did not belong to Floyd. The documents say 12 shell casings were recovered at the scene. The youth was hit at least once and was driven from Myrtle Street to a nearby hospital; whoever was driving left him there before driving off."
