Charles Michael Johnson III, 30, was charged with murder for a fatal hit-and-run that killed 51-year-old Ernesto Reyes in San Pablo. Johnson, on parole for a previous conviction, allegedly drove a silver Dodge Charger that struck Reyes while speeding. After the incident on August 24, 2024, Johnson fled the scene. He was later arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run. His bail was reduced to $200,000 to assist his mother, but he failed to appear in court, resulting in a bench warrant.
